A research position in accordance with § 99 (5) of the 2002 Universitätsgesetz (according to § 27 of the collective agreement for the University employees - Uni-KV) at the Chair of Ceramics of the Department Mineral Resources Engineering is open to be filled at the earliest date. At the Montanuniversität Leoben, the Chair of Ceramics at the Department Mineral Resources
Engineering is seeking to fill a career position according to § 99(5) of the 2002 UG (Qualification position according to § 27 - Uni-KV) as of the earliest possible date in a permanent, full-time employment relationship.
The classification is based on the collective agreement for employees of the universities in salary group A2. In this classification, the collective agreement monthly salary for full employment is € 5.808,20 gross (14 times a year).
The applicant should represent the research field “Ceramic refractories – testing and simulation” in all relevant areas of the Montanuniversität in teaching, research and transfer. Teaching in the bachelor's and master's degrees as well as in the subject area is expected.
Requirements for employment are:
Research experience with ordinary ceramic refractory materials for industrial pyroprocesses, proven by publications.
Experience with the application of simulation techniques for refractory materials and linings, taking into account not linear-elastic material behavior.
Experience with fracture mechanical characterization of refractories.
Habilitation in the field of refractory materials or an equivalent scientific and didactic qualification.
Successful acquiring third-party funding for application and contract research with national and international partners.
Fluent command of German and English at the time of application
In particular, it is expected that the person takes over the following tasks:
Research work in the area of testing and simulation of refractory material behavior.
Investigation of structure-property relationships of refractory materials
FEM and DEM simulations of refractory materials and linings under thermomechanical stress as well as micromechanical simulation.
Acquisition of third-party funding and management of national and international research projects.
Maintaining and expanding national and international co-operations
Publications in peer-reviewed international journals and contributions to conferences.
Supervision of Bachelor and Master students as well as PhDs.
Teaching in the area of refractories and simulation techniques
