Offer Description
The employment contract is concluded for a fixed term in full-time work with a probationary period of six months.
Mandatory conditions:
In addition to the general conditions for employment under the provisions of the current Labor Act, applicants must meet the conditions prescribed by the Higher Education and Scientific Activity Act (Official Gazette No. 119/2022) and have:
1) for the position under point 1, completed university graduate studies in natural sciences and a doctorate in the field of natural sciences, field of biology
2) for the position under point 2, completed university graduate studies in biotechnical sciences and a doctorate in the field of biotechnical sciences, field of biotechnology
For both positions, active knowledge of the English language and computer skills are required.
Preference will be given to candidates who meet additional requirements:
– For the associate position under point 1, preference will be given to candidates who have: 1) experience working on scientific research projects, 2) experience working on field research in the field of anthropology, 3) skills and knowledge in statistical and bioinformatics data analysis with an emphasis on microbiome analysis, 4) laboratory knowledge and skills in conducting molecular genetic analyses and next-generation sequencing methods, 5) authorship of scientific papers published in journals indexed in national and international databases, 6) presentations at international scientific conferences, 7) experience of several months of education abroad, 8) recognition, awards or competitive scholarships received, and 9) high work standards, motivation, as well as experience of teamwork in a domestic and international environment.
– For the associate position under point 2, preference is given to candidates who have: 1) experience working on scientific research projects, 2) proven experience working with mass spectrometry devices, 3) demonstrated experience in processing chemical and biomedical data.

– proof of completed academic degree of Doctor of Science

– list of scientific papers and participation in scientific conferences
– evidence of fulfilling additional benefits of the competition
– certificate of citizenship or proof of citizenship for foreign citizens
– proof of knowledge of the Croatian language, level B2 (for foreigners).
